Those teen years..and now..

Adolescence, the teen years..an age of turmoil and stress..or a beautiful time of ur life..which impacts ur whole life..the friends..those chats on phone..that first crush [numerous for some:-) ]..relationship with parents..that consciousness about how I look..those endless fights with siblings and then patching up and sharing everything with them..those times which i still remember and laugh at..my worry for examinations, the results and how well will my best pal do, who was supposedly my biggest competitor:) my affection for my teachers, laughing non-stop with my pals during the class..it was beautiful..and still is..I am much the same..but better at handling my emotions now..I am lucky that I was able to manage that turmoil that arose during that time. But some are not. Failure in love, examinations, relationships, inability to accept oneself as one is etc are many things which may lead to a deviant behaviour, which might even ruin lives. Many tend to fall into bad company and become prone to substance abuse or some other things which are not good for us, some even become suicidal. So it becomes the responsibility of all us, not just few teachers, NGOs, Government to take care of people in their formative years and lend our support forever. How much everyone needs this strength is something we all might have realized over the years looking at similar cases as quoted in news or otherwise. So here comes the question..Do we really need Adolescence Education? You answer urself..Because I don't need an answer for myself. I know we do. We can't just keep ignoring the real situation and live in idealism. Reflect and tell urself and then support the cause, which is a commitment of many..

Adulteration of food items- A menace happening on our faces..

All of us like eating healthy food, are fond of mangoes, bananas or whatever. But are we aware that these very food items are being infused with harmful chemicals to improve their texture, color, size and the like. For eg. Apples are covered with the "harmless" wax to give them that shine that we so badly look for. Mangoes are treated with carbide to ripen them fast. Cucumbers are injected with a chemical that releases ethylene to get it to grow fast and long and full. There are other such horrible things happening actually all the time. These chemicals wreak havoc on our healths and we are not even aware of the dangers they pose. They can cause cancers, heart problems, respiratory illnesses and what not. So just beware. Keep a check. I wonder why is the government not doing anything in this regard.

An inspiring speech

Very True, Sincere, Pratical & Down to earth Speech by Famous Writer “Chetan Bhagat”.

Hope U all would feel need to sit back & revisit priorities.

"Don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful, Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your break-up. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

"Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first.. Same is with life where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not meant to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a prepaid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up?

It's ok, bunk a few classes, scoring low in couple of papers, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love, little fights with your spouse. We are people, not programmed devices."

"Don't be serious, be sincere."

God gave me nothing i wanted, He gave me everything I needed.

I would really like to know how many of us believe in what Chetan said. I do.

Are u happy with ur work?

Since the past few days, I m getting to interact with lots of people who say they are at the wrong place at the right time. They say they chose to do whatever came in their way. So they just went with the flow, little realizing whether they will really enjoy their work or not. In fact, I realize many of us plunge into jobs right after the graduation, having little knowledge of what kind of job we really want to do. How appropriate it is? I am not saying that people always falter at this stage. Many present day senior executives started their careers at this time only. But how much importance was given to job satisfaction in those days? I don't know. But I am in serious doubt over how well people assess their likes and dislikes today. Or is it the influence of the desire to make quick money.. I would not like to judge any one on these terms. But this is just out of curiosity after seeing so many people unhappy and dissatisfied with what they are doing that I raised this question..
